Commis Chef

The Commis Chef is responsible to assist the Chef de Partie in the preparation of food for our various F&B Outlets, across various sections and to assist kitchen outlet operation as per food handling and safety standards and ensure the company’s excellent reputation for food quality is maintained at all times.

Duties

  • Assist in the kitchen area assigned
  • Makes the preparation required according to service and F&B outles
  • Prepares food stuffs as directed by the Chef de Partie according to requirement and quality standards required.
  • Maintain the integrity and authenticity of recipes offered at the respective restaurant/ section.
  • Optimisez cooking processes with attention to speed and quality.
  • Maintains outlet hygiene and safety at all times.
  • Consistently maintains food and safety protection by ensuring that all food handling processes are compliant with
  • HACCP food safety guidelines, regulations and procedures.
  • Interacts with customers, communicating menu items and promoting dishes listed on menu.

Requirements

  • Certificate in food preparation, production and service will be given preference
  • Gains knowledge and works in all sections required with the kitchen
  • Must have a Food Handling License
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen preparation and various dishes and cooking methods.
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment
  • Sound knowledge of authentic ingredients and substitute ingredients.
  • Speaks English
  • Eye for detail and a passion for food and innovation
  • Willing to work on a shift basis in a busy kitchen environment
  • Maintains a high level of personal hygiene and is fit to work in a kitchen environment
  • Conforms with hotels grooming standards
